The international premiere of Naoko Ogigami’s magestic film Karera ga Honki de Amu toki wa (Close-Knit) in the Panorama Special section of Berlinale 2017 garnered. Nov 27, 2016 Karera ga Honki de Amutoki wa; 彼らが本気で編むときは; When They Knit Seriously [Japanese Movie 2017] Release Date: February 25, 2017 Genre. Ogigami Naoko’s “Karera ga honki de amu toki wa” movie, international name “Close-Knit”, was among the 83 ones screened in Udine (Italy) last week during the Far East Film Festival, the most relevant one in Europe dedicated to popular eastern movies. It received the Audience Award, which is given to the most appreciated movie of the Festival. I went there to see that movie especially because I’m a longtime big fan of Ikuta Toma myself, and was particularly curious to see him in such a role. I have to say, I had great expectations and was not disappointed at all. I was extremely touched by the portrayal of Rinko, Toma’s character, and the movie itself is honestly a must-see, delicate, ironically drammatical, and definitely blunt about the transgender theme at the same time. Ogigami created quite a peculiar movie, the whole cast is perfect on their roles. I’m so happy she got on the spotlight once again thanks to this movie! The directors of Hamon (Kobayashi Shotaro, first on the left) and Misono Universe (Yamashita Nobuhiro, knelt on the right) movies were there as well, and as far as I can see from this picture and other reports I read from a colleague who attended the whole festival, I guess (and hope!) they really enjoyed their time in Italy ^_^. “Hamon: Yakuza Boogie” (Yoko’s movie) will be screened in Italy (Udine) during next Far East Film Festival 21th - 29th April 2017, yaaaaaaahh!!! And there will be also Toma’s and Kiritani Kenta’s “transgender” movie “ Karera ga honki de amu toki wa”, Suda Masaki’s “ Teiichi no Kuni” and Kame as a policeman in “P to JK”, OMG! I wonder whether any of them could actually show up I actually doubt, but daydreaming is not yet forbidden, right;)? I’m so excited! Although it’ll be quite hard for me to go and see any of them Here’s the whole Japanese movie line-up.
